As the Siberian Husky still shows the wolf´s pack behaviour, we keep them in groups of up to eight dogs in large runs of up to 200 m². Each group forms a pack or what we call a “family”. To keep the possibility of dog fights minimal, the puppy groups have to grow into a functional family being not older than 6 months at most.
Living together in a group trains not only the social interactions but also mind and body. For the latter the dogs have “towers” for jumping, sun bathing, ... and playing around. The dogs just love them and for us it saves about six weeks of conditioning in the training period. Housing is provided in form of several single dog houses and one or two group rooms in the bigger garden houses.
In addition to the kennels we have a big exercise area of about 8000 m” (2 acres).
